NEWS UPDATE | Spanish promoters, who slashed EUR 100,000 from the prices of new, key ready beachfront apartments in the Costa Blanca, reported 25% were sold in the first 24 hours of the show home opening.
The best 20 homes on seaview development that had been mothballed for four years during the recession were offered for sale at prices from EUR 92,000. Bargain hunters rushed in when the weekend sale at Las Calitas, Cabo Roig started. Five of the 2-bed apartments, with terraces and sea views from their clifftop location just five minutes’ walk to the sandy beach below, were sold immediately. Other would-be buyers went away to secure their choice with a Spanish bank mortgage.
Ben Walker of Spanish specialist brokers Walker Property Spain said: “The interest was as high as we expected. We have further viewings lined up in the next 48 hours and all the units should be snapped up within a month as buyers book into our Fly to Buy service to secure their choice of apartment and aspect.
“It is clear that the demand for good quality, well located Costa homes is getting stronger by the week and sales will grow as more banks and developers start to cut prices to a realistic and affordable level.”
